We praise You, O God, our Redeemer, Creator;

In grateful devotion our tribute we bring.

We lay it before You, we kneel and adore You;

We bless Your holy name, glad praises we sing.

We worship You, God of our fathers, we bless You;

Through trial and tempest our guide You have been.

When perils o’ertake us, You will not forsake us,

And with Your help, O Lord, our struggles we win.

With voices united our praises we offer,

And gladly our songs of thanksgiving we raise.

With You, Lord, beside us, Your strong arm will guide us.

To You, our great Redeemer, forever be praise!

And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe and put his own clothes on him and led him away to crucify him. As they went out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. they compelled this man to carry his cross. (Matthew 27:31-32 ESV)

Lord Jesus, though too weak to carry Your cross, yet You bore in Your body the sins of all people. By Your death, You reveal Your love for the whole world and forgive the sins of all people. Grant, that by Your Holy Spirit, our students may know that love and learn to see beyond the perceived faults of their classmates, treating each other with mercy and compassion; for You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Almighty and ever-living God, You promise to hear the prayers of Your people who call upon You.  Be present in our schools.  Grant that our teachers treat each student with concern for their well-being and grant that our students respect their teachers; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Heavenly Father, You bring us safely to each new day of our lives. Bless this day for those in our schools. Remove from them the attitude that this is the same old routine at the beginning of another same old week.  Create in them wonder and excitement at another opportunity to grow in knowledge and wisdom; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

O Lord, bless our classrooms. Make them places where our students become fully prepared to face the challenges of adulthood. Provide teachers for our students who look beyond textbook knowledge and teach our students how to think, not just what to think; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Almighty God, You strengthen us each day for service to others. According to Your good and gracious will, support with Your mighty hand our faculty and staff. Strengthen them for service to our students and by extension to our community. Bring joy to their work as they instruct their students and create opportunities for learning in their classrooms; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Heavenly Father, bless those families in our schools where the vocation of one or more parents keeps them separated from each other, especially those serving in our armed forces. Guard and protect those whose lives are placed in harm's way and grant them a happy reunion with their loved ones; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
