You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)

Heavenly Father, protect our students from the anti-Christian sentiment in our schools today and grant them courage to be faithful to You in word and deed that others may see their faith and glorify You; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them. And great crowds followed him from Galilee and the Decapolis, and from Jerusalem and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan. (Matthew 4:23-25)

Lord Jesus Christ, in Your ministry You healed many with frail and diseased bodies. Look in mercy upon all in our schools who are afflicted with various diseases and heal them according to Your will, that they may acknowledge Your goodness and serve You in willing obedience all their days; for You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

This week is College Go! Week — a time when schools and communities help students plan and apply for admission to college.
Lord God, heavenly Father, You bring order out of chaos. Guide our students considering higher education. Grant wisdom to them and their parents as they consider their goals and aspirations, the course offerings of the various colleges/universities, scholarship opportunities, and the financial aid packages available. Guide them in making decisions that will enhance their future education and open doors of opportunity to their future; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Heavenly Father, You create each new day. At the beginning of this new day, bless our students with a desire for learning. Through the work of our teachers, help our students see the value and purpose of education. Increase their understanding that what they learn in each class will increase their knowledge and be a blessing for them in their lives; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

God and Father, watch over our students. In their zest for life, their eagerness to change and progress, provide them with a sense of direction and purpose. Enable our teachers and staff to touch their hearts and minds and so to focus their energy and joy of life towards those things which are good, right, and proper; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

O Lord Jesus, by Your death on the cross, You won the victory for us over sin, death, and the devil.  Bless our student-athletes with faith to see beyond the win/loss record of their sports and know that in You, they are all winners; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Heavenly Father, You are the source of all wisdom and knowledge.  Grant Your blessing upon our schools that those who teach might do so with compassion and care for their students and that those who learn might receive their instruction with respect and thankfulness for their teachers; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
