This week is College Go! Week — a time when schools and communities help students plan and apply for admission to college.
Lord God, heavenly Father, You bring order out of chaos. Guide our students considering higher education. Grant wisdom to them and their parents as they consider their goals and aspirations, the course offerings of the various colleges/universities, scholarship opportunities, and the financial aid packages available. Guide them in making decisions that will enhance their future education and open doors of opportunity to their future; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

O Lord Jesus, by Your death on the cross, You won the victory for us over sin, death, and the devil.  Bless our student-athletes with faith to see beyond the win/loss record of their sports and know that in You, they are all winners; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Heavenly Father, You are the source of all wisdom and knowledge.  Grant Your blessing upon our schools that those who teach might do so with compassion and care for their students and that those who learn might receive their instruction with respect and thankfulness for their teachers; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Almighty God, merciful Father, who created and completed all things, on this day when the work of their calling as students, teachers, staff and administrators begin anew, we implore You to create the beginning, direct the continuance, and bless the ending, that all they do may be preserved from sin, their lives may be sanctified, and their work this day be well pleasing to You; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Heavenly Father, You create each new day. At the beginning of this new day, bless our students with a desire for learning. Through the work of our teachers, help our students see the value and purpose of education. Increase their understanding that what they learn in each class will increase their knowledge and be a blessing for them in their lives; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. (1 Timothy 2:1-2 ESV)

O Lord God, heavenly Father, according to Your Word, we bring before Your throne all who are in high positions over our schools. Grant wisdom especially to the State Superintendent of Schools and the State Legislators as they weigh the needs of our students and pass legislation or develop policies which affect the learning taking place in the classroom. Grant wisdom to the local school boards, District Superintendents and Building Principals as they work to carry-out the directives given to them. Grant wisdom to our teachers who ultimately are the ones who instruct our students. Bless them with hearts that care for the students in their classrooms as they strive to impart knowledge to the best of their ability; through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

And you, who were once dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. (Colossians 2:13-14 ESV)

Lord God, heavenly Father, Your only Son, Jesus, was nailed to the cross also for our students when they do not always make the right choices or decisions. Grant repentance to those who give in to the temptations of the flesh, and cancel the record of their sin for the sake of Your Son, Jesus, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
