The Concordia University Wind Symphony from Chicago, IL will perform at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 11 at 7 p.m. as part of its 2017 Spring Tour and the congregation’s celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. The Wind Symphony has performed in 43 states (including Carnegie Hall) and in countries around the world, including Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and China (including the cities of Shanghai and Beijing).

Under the direction of Dr. Richard Fischer, Distinguished Professor of Music and the Fred and Jane Wittlinger Endowed Chair for Music Performance, the Concordia University Wind Symphony enjoys an unparalleled reputation among smaller liberal arts institutions. This summer the Wind Symphony will tour South Africa.

There is no charge to attend this concert, but an offering will be received during the performance in support of the Wind Symphony. All from the Logansport community and beyond are welcome and encouraged to attend. St. James is located at 430 9th St. in Logansport.

 

St. James will be hosting its Summer Celebration on Saturday, July 23, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the church located at 430 Ninth Street in Logansport next to the post office. The event will include an ice cream (homemade!) social and cookout, games, pony and horse rides, and a dunk tank. All proceeds will benefit the St. James Youth Group and the church's annual Vacation Bible School.

The annual St. James rummage and bake sale is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Bring a friend and shop 'til you drop!

All proceeds will benefit the Board of Missions and Evangelism to continue the spread of the Gospel throughout Logansport and beyond!
